Boosting blood flow with yoga

Yoga helps trigger fresh blood to be transported throughout the body, consequently boosting circulation and promoting detoxification.

This is achieved through the ‘tourniquet effect’, which involves closing off the blood flow from a particular joint, organ or gland by holding a yoga posture in stillness for 10 to 20 seconds.

Upon releasing the posture, the high-speed blood power washes the area, helping to break down scar tissue and toxin build-up.
